The Open Universities Australia project focussed on the development of two new undergraduate programs for the University of Adelaide. These unique programs were developed sharing a 'spine' of foundational business courses. The programs also included five 'open enrollment' courses which allow students to enroll without any pre-requisites or specific requirements.

Bachelor of Health Service Management

Shape the health services that care for your community’s wellbeing

Students will be prepared for a rewarding career and thrive in healthcare settings. They will build core business skills and gain specialist knowledge in health services policy, planning, and promotion. Students will graduate career-ready and able to make a difference in the health sector.

At the end of the program students will have:

  1. Broad and coherent knowledge about the theory and practice of Health Service Management, including health policy and reform clinical governance and safety and quality.
  2. Well-developed cognitive and technical skills in leadership and management and organisational change.
  3. Broad understanding of business, financial and human resource management skills.
  4. Broad understanding of ethical considerations in Health Service Management.
  5. Effective professional self-awareness skills including communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.

Bachelor of International Business

Build a global business mindset for a globalised economy

Students will gain expertise in business, culture and strategy. This degree blends business foundations with international insights to prepare students for a career anywhere in the world in roles related to trade, management and global markets.

At the end of the program students will have:

  1. Broad and coherent knowledge about the theory and practice of international business matters.
  2. Well-developed cognitive and technical skills in international business.
  3. Well-developed judgment to provide specialist advice and functions.
  4. Broad understanding of routine and evolving ethical considerations in the practice of international business matters.
  5. Effective communication skills to interpret and transmit technical advice, knowledge and ideas.
